EMC – The Energy Markets Course

You will embark on a clear progression of understanding starting with what gas is and where it comes from, how electricity is generated and meets demand, and the effect of carbon trading on the whole process of producing, buying, selling and transporting gas and electricity in liberalised energy markets. The course covers key business processes and challenges such as customer portfolios, balancing, operations, trading and risk management.

During the three days you will benefit from the experience of our trainers who are all experts in their fields. As well as teaching sessions, interactions with other delegates and open opportunities to raise questions you will also participate in trading and balancing exercises which will encourage you to experience both the thrill and the pressure of balancing a gas or power system without breaking the bank and (hopefully) making a profit!

This course is suitable for: Graduate entrants to energy companies. Experienced staff moving into gas and power roles from other sectors or industries. Lawyers, consultants and regulators needing to understand energy markets.
